CFT Announces 2010 Raoul Teilhet Scholarship Program |

CFT is pleased to announce that the Federation is now accepting applications for the 2010 Raoul Teilhet Scholarship Program. Since the program was established in 1997, CFT has helped 302 students achieve their higher education goals by awarding them Raoul Teilhet Scholarships.
High school seniors and continuing college students who are children or dependents of CFT members in good standing are eligible to apply. Scholarships in the amounts of $3000 or $1000 are awarded for any one year of higher education. Please note that students who received a Raoul Teilhet Scholarship as a high school senior are not eligible for another scholarship during college.
There are two separate applications and two deadlines:
High school seniors must submit applications by January 10, 2010
Continuing college students must submit applications by July 1, 2010
Applications can be downloaded from www.cft.org (click on the Scholarships link) or members may call the Costa Mesa Field office at(714)754-6638 to request that an application be mailed to them.
Note that the application contains a Member Verification Form. Ira Lansing, the UPM union president, must sign this form to verify that the parent or guardian of the applicant is a union member.
NOTE: Additional CFT, AFT and AFL-CIO scholarships are available to members' dependents. This year, three children of CFT members were awarded AFL-CIO scholarships. Links to more information are also available on www.cft.org Web site.
